Visiting the Farm

On Saturdays we've been going to the Farmer's Market to buy some delicious fruit and then going to visit the cousins at the Farm which is fun for several reasons:

Trampoline

They have a trampoline. Kinsey likes jumping on it, but then gets upset by the static electricity shocks and decides that she doesn't like it so much anymore. And sometimes she likes getting bounced because she isn't heavy enough to go very high herself. But overall, it is a pretty safe place to run around in.

Dog

Kinsey loves to talk about going to see Trooper the dog, but then always gets scared and the poor dog has to be shut in the house. Of course he his quite a bit bigger than Kinsey and if he did jump on her, which is a distinct possibility, she'd end up even more afraid of all dogs.

Fruit

Both kids have enjoyed trying some of the fruit that is growing and ripening right now ... plums, raspberries, blueberries. Yummmmmm. Kinsey doesn't seem to mind if the blueberries are blue or bluish or even greenish still. They are too fun to pick by herself and eat. One time Ben put a bunch of plums in a bucket and while we were sitting on the grass, Kyler didn't want to wait for me to give him pieces so he grabbed them out of the bucket and took a bite out of each plum (one of the few times his two bottom teeth were very effective). As I took one away he would grab the next one and ended up with purple juice all over him.

Flowers

So many flowers are in bloom now and Kinsey loves to smell them. I used to take her as a baby to look at the flowers so maybe she kind of remembers that. Kyler will even pretend to smell the flowers, then he'll try to pull petals off.

Cousins

Kinsey absolutely loves Andrea and Ben. They like to spend some time with the two kids and they love the attention. Kinsey wants to bring flowers to Andrea, and is sad when she has to go home. Ben makes her laugh.
