December is fun

Kyler has entered a "no-no-no!" phase. He says it emphatically about just about everything when the mood hits him. Do you want to go outside? NO! Do you want a cookie? NO! Do you see the great Christmas lights? NO! Actually, it is more like NNNNNNNNNo! He also does a thing with his eyes that makes it look like he is giving you the evil eye. And much more hitting and throwing than usual. Especially at inappropriate times. I think he might have more of a terrible two/aggressive stage than Kinsey ever did. So he has been very ornery recently ... but on the plus side, he slept through the night for two nights in a row. (Too bad I kept waking up anyway.)

It has been soooo dry (sunny but freezing cold) here that everyone is suffering ... both kids have chapped lips that extend far enough outside the lip line that they look sick. And Kinsey walks around like Medusa with her hair floating around and sticking to everything.

Every time we see a picture of Santa, Kyler's comment is ... "Santa, he's sneaky!" This must have to do with the fact that Santa sneaks into your house after dark. I don't think he connected the fact that Santa is supposed to leave presents with all of the sneaking around. It is kind of cute. He loves the decorations we see everywhere. The candy canes that the bucket truck was hanging on the light posts were "candy andy" for a while, though I'm not sure why.

We also started getting the inside of our house painted by Dan's friend Quique. We had to spend several days upstairs and/or out of the house. Exhausting to say the least. Kyler took naps on a few of those days because of long car rides, ate pretty much nothing, and got wild and crazy from boredom. We also went to visit Great Grandma Lamb on one of those days which was fun. And no, the painting isn't nearly done, so we have more days like these to enjoy in the near future.
